“A candidate shall be declared to have passed in a Group or Unit if he secures at one sitting a minimum of 40 percent marks in each paper of the Group or Unit and a minimum of 50 percent marks in the aggregate of all the papers of that Group or Unit.”
“a candidate who has appeared in all the papers comprised in a Group or Unit and fails … but secures a minimum of sixty percent marks in any paper or papers … shall be eligible to appear at any one or more of the immediately next three following examinations in the paper or papers in which he secured less than sixty percent Marks”
“the marks of 60 or more secured … are carried forward automatically for the immediately next three following examinations”
“if a candidate has exhausted the exemption … he may opt for the continuing of said exemption … Provided that such candidate shall be required to obtain a minimum of fifty per cent marks in each of the remaining paper or papers of that Group or Unit”
“the Exempted Marks will be limited to 50 and excess marks of the permanent exempted paper cannot be considered for complying with the 50% aggregate marks requirement of the same or other Group”

How to read these numbers
- Group I / Group II count candidates who sat that group alone or both; Both groups counts those who sat both together and passed both.
- A low pass rate is not a reason to panic: it is the share of everyone who sat, including candidates who were not ready. What you control is how well your hours match where the marks sit.
